Today was a nice day at the preserve.  The grass is still very green and still growing.  The baby bison is now getting very hard to see and the mom bison is hafl way covered and the dad bison is partially covered.  I did notice there are a few more plants growing amongst the preserve.

Coolest Cabin

Here at Y-Camp, we encourage our leaders to have the coolest cabin when campers come and check in for the week on Sunday. Coolest cabin is where our leaders can decorate the inside and the outside of their cabin so that their campers can say that they live in the coolest cabin. Below, you'll see how Gee and Sam (Y-Camp leaders) decorated Shagbark Cabin so that their campers can say they have the coolest cabin.

The preserve today did not have much of a change. The baby bison is starting to become very hard to see with all the tall green grass growing in the prairie. There has been no change in the animals seen – and the Red-wing Blackbirds are very prominent around the pond.

The prarie today looked very green.  It is a rainy day, so the skies were grey. The trees are full with beautiful green leaves and the prairie is a sea of green grass. This week we do have a small change with the bison family. The grass has started to become quite high and now the baby bison is half-covered by the grass. We will see as the summer continues on how high the grass becomes and if the baby bison 'disappears'.

Today the preserve was very soggy.  We have had a consistent amount of day for rain - and it was drizzling when I was taking the photo. In fact, if you look closely, you can see a small area that looks smedged - that is actually a raindrop that hit the lens. The main changes with the preserve this week are the amount of leaves on trees - as well as how green the prairie has become. The signs of the tan prairie grass has been overcome by the green grass.
