PARENT INFORMATION - YCAMP

PARENT INFORMATION

Y Camp knows how good camp is for children.  Y Camp knows campers grow in spirit, mind, body, character and friendships.  Y Camp knows the programs are full of fun and campers have wonderful experiences involved in them.  That is a great message Y Camp tells parents, but ultimately at the core of every parent is the question “will my child be safe at your camp?”  Y Camp’s answer is “Yes!” All staff go through two weeks of staff training focused on working with children, keeping them safe, programming, fun, and developing camper character and friendships.  All Staff are CPR/ First aid certified.  All staff go through annual National Background checks.  All staff attend regular summer in-service trainings.  All Staff have an intensive interview process to insure they meet the highest of standards of character to work with children.

Y Camp is Nationally Accredited by the American Camp Association on over 350 standards of safety and program excellence.  Y Camp understands the first priority for all campers and staff is safety because without that, no one gains the benefits of everything else camp has to offer.  You can find more information on the ACA at their website.

That being said, sending your child to camp is one of the greatest things you can do for them.  At camp they grow and are impacted in countless ways.  They gain independence, they learn new skills or grow in the skills they already have, they have connection to other campers, nature and God.  Y Camp believes it is a great partnership with parents as both want children to grow in character, friends, and have a ton of fun doing so.  Y Camp looks forward to seeing you this summer and creating a connection with your child.  For additional questions please call Y Camp and we would be happy to talk to you.
